A damn fine wine. Leather, earth, and dried red fruit. All the grip I want but still easily quaffable. Perfect for a steak or a red sauce with spicy pork sausage.

Not the most aromatic of wines. Songs of leather, aged balsamic, dried cherries and cranberry, dried fennel and a general earthiness. Tannins are soft and powdery, with a fresh cherry like acidity. Length could be better. Not bad.

I wish more wines could be this harmonious. It has leather and cherries and the slightest tinge of sour on the back but the minute you pair it with food it transforms. Decant for 1 hour +
