Big cherry nose. Ripe. Hint of cough syrup but in a good way. Super. cherries jump out of the glass. Singing. Wow. Spice and cigars. Palate is rich and ripe. Complex, crystalline and deep. Very pure cherries and balanced. Sappy and deep. Superb balance and length. So classy. Slippery fruit and suave tannins. Drinking well now but no rush.

Nov 4th, 2023Elena destroyed 2016 and left achingly beautiful Nebbiolo in her wake. What a wine. Such clarity and definition. Strawberry, big ripe mid season cherries, a hint of tar, even some cherry compote but it’s all buttressed by startling minerality. So many fresh roses. Dazzling aromas. Compact and vivid aromas. Almost in 3D. So fine. Palate is just wonderful. Amazingly fine grained tannins that are just so silky, so sweet and so perfect. This is delicacy and elegance exemplified. Perfect balance of sweet fruit, elegant tannins and great freshness. What a wonderful wine. 16 hits keep on coming. Nose gets wonderful herbals as it airs. Big structure ensures a long life. Very pure and very sappy. Such length. The nose smells like the elite burgundy people fight for allocations over. What concentration and density. Brilliant wine. Has decades to go. Outrageous explosive sweet cherry fruit here. So close to a 9.5. Maybe air will push it over the line.

Pure, sappy, cherry syrup with a bit of chocolate to boost. Dank herbs and liquorice as it airs. Beautiful mouthfeel.
This one could be left alone for years I bet. Proper glassware does this justice.
A cornucopia of browns & reds, autumnal mos def. Strong acid backbone. Nice grip of gentle tannins.

Granted it’s new glasses and I haven’t done a hth.
P: Cherries, Strawberries, tarry viscosity, ready to go after 2+ hrs out. Delicate tannins present, a dark, brooding wood/soil quality is there. Almost chocolate on the nose when you sip. As this airs, tannins build.Nice acidity balance, beautiful wine
