Big tannins, high acid, violets and roses, sour black cherry, rhubarb... all the hallmarks of a great Barolo. At this age it’s got some leather, but there will be more tertiary notes at year 10. A Barolo this big should be good for the long haul. No faults, traditionally produced, delicious... drinking now with the fruit of 2013.

Wow cherry and almond and hay. A bit burgundy with a heat side. Superb palate with a strong acid backbone, some superb grip, a subtle matter with a lot of complexity. Harsh tannins. Long fruity finish with a bit of a drying effect from the tannins. This is good !

Terrific barolo. A bit of a youngster - had it decanted for about 30min (probably needs at least double that) - but it was excellent. Great earthiness coupled with aromas of dried black cherries, violet, and dried currants, the tannins are pretty intense but paired perfectly with a bolognese. Excellent restaurant in Gilford, NH!
