This wine was a little lighter than expected but really aromatic and really fun to drink. I didn’t really miss the weight.

This was unexpectedly deep garnet, bricking pretty heavily, so that gave some pause. Balsamic and tar on nose reassured, and in the mouth, the high detailing and supple texture carried a milk chocolatey note over classic elements of dried rose, savoury mineral and tanned leather. Fruit was perfectly interested, along bitter cherry lines, yet juicy and succulent. Long, harmonious finish proved perfectly resolved tannins. Wow! Despite atypical features, this was clearly Barolo, and an utter joy to drink, satisfying at every step.

First night was mostly ripe fruits, and a little an austerity which made it feel over the hill. Left the half bottle open, and happened to try it before throwing out the next night. Fruits came forward, and balance was right on. Much better.

So subtle. Perfectly aged. With the ravioli, superb.

It shows signs of aging, brick orange color but still vibrant. Great aromas of sweet dried fruit. Loved it!!!!

Balsamic raspberries, black truffle w/ hints of cigar. Pale evolved ruby color w/ big rim. Dry, medium acidity. Mature tannins. Not overused oak. Great balance!
