Well, I’ll be damned. I could have sworn this was aged in American oak, not French. But then I looked, and yep, French barrels. Hard to say but there is some ‘yeehaw’ in this that you rarely get in an Oregon Pinot. It’s bigger and heavier and has a cowboy like quality. What I mean is that it’s less finesse and elegant, more in your face. Lots of vanilla and oak components. Heavy tobacco, some citric fruits too. Really delicious. Surprising that it’s Oregon.
