Maybe drunk a little over chilled. For me far too much oak. Strangely it seemed to improve as the bottle emptied. No surprise this is the weakest vintage. Even Judd can't get it right every year.

2012 vintage Chardonnay. Medium lemon hue. Pronounced nose of wet stone minerality, lime juice and gooseberry, grapefruit tart / sourness. Some oak and buttery notes from the malolactic fermentation. On the palate, searing acidity and medium plus concentration. Very well integrated oak. Great clean finish with some lemon sherbet flavour. A lovely surprise. Excellent wine making.

Agree w Ken Burton. Strange taste and smell, my wife referred as 'duck soup'. Cannot disagree w Ken's rate a 9.5!
