Kevin Judd Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

A fantastic Sauvignon blanc. Notes of honeysuckle, lemon, mango and flowers. Rich finish that is smooth. $24.99 at Bernie’s — 6 months ago

Greywacke

Marlborough Chardonnay 2021

Impressive. Incredibly smoky and reductive on the nose. Gun smoke character follows on the palate, followed by creamy citrus and slate. Strong buy — 8 months ago

Greywacke Vineyard Eddie's Patch Syrah 2016

Opaque and lively. Nose jumped out like an angry beast. Still a little young and tannic. Black fruit with a nice density. Long finish and surprisingly lower alcohol at 14.5%. Will develop nicely as time goes on. — 3 years ago

Marlborough Pinot Gris 2021

A v interesting, opulent Pinot Gris. The word ‘ripe’ comes to mind. Quince on the palette but, more prominently, vanilla. Keen to explore other Greywacke wines. — 7 months ago

Nautilus Estate

The Paper Nautilus Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019

High end Sauv Blanc. Different to Greywacke Wild or Dog Point Sec 94 - less oaky and less breadth, more linear. Lemon, almost tangerine character. The oak and lees comes through in the mouthfeel, which is soft and supple. Very good wine but not in my mind as good@as its oaked nz companions. — 2 years ago

Moorooduc Estate

Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gris 2013

A wine with many layers. Tried this after Greywacke Marlborough Pinot Gris. Fresher, but with pleasant hints of vanilla, and on the drier side. — 7 months ago

Spy Valley

Satellite Sauvignon Blanc 2012

This pale wine shows mineral and herbal qualities on the nose. The wine smells much grassier than the previous two New Zealand SBs I sampled (Babich and Greywacke). The palate shows a boatload of citrus minerality, too, with a racy acidity. Crustaceans and mollosks are welcome here. — a year ago
