On open rum raisin but has evolved nicely. Red to brown in color. Good tannins. Fruit. It's alive.

Leather, cedar, campfire smoke (a tiny bit), anise, lavender notes on the nose. Blueberries, black cherries, leather, dried herbs, more cherries and a little cinnamon/nutmeg finish. Layers and layers and layers.

Shared a 26-year-old wine with Matt and Kim. Opened up nicely with a bit of leather and nice fruit.

May 14th, 2015Very nice! An interesting story is behind this one apparently. One of those "hidden behind a false wall" stories. We're paying a bit for this at a restaurant ($110) but apparently it's available for less retail. It's not going to last though! It was a little tight right out of the the bottle but damn did it open up to something amazing. Really dreamy. I would love to get ahold of more than this.
