Upon tasting there is a flash in the pan sensation of Northern Rhone Syrah that continues into a black and blue showcase of perfectly ripe fruit. Lavender is there, violets are there, and also a touch of dried clove. The finish is long with a beautiful continuation of everything that's mentioned above. This is an absolutely stunning expression of Mencia.

To finish off after the Grand Cru Tasting one of my favourite Wine styles - Mencia from Ribeira Sacra In Spain. Very savoury yet full bodied. Very easy to like. Bottle disappears quickly.

Tight at first but opened up after an hour. As somebody else pointed out, like a mix of pinot and syrah. Violets, cedar, earth, cassis, leather. My first dance with mencia. Very nice!
