You know, this reminds me what Merlot can be all about. No polished, soft, saggy fruit drink here - this has texture and tannin and licorice and herbs. Classic (in the historic sense) Cali Merlot.

Long ago I sold this wine. The aromas/flavors resonate strongly with those older versions. Undercurrent of fresh herb to go with the floral black cherry tastes.
