Tonight I have opened the 2013 Hahn SLH Pinot Noir at the request of a close wine friend Dominus. I picked this up this afternoon to give it a go and I am glad I did. Thanks Dom for the suggestion.
On the nose there is nice fruit of cranberry and red raspberry. There are notes of clove, cola, hints of caramel and dusty soil.
The palate has a medium mouth feel with notes of cranberry, cherry, cola, nice vanilla, mushroom and a touch of oak. There is a medium + acidity more on the + side with medium low tannins that are smooth and pleasing.

Pale ruby. Red fruit, strawberry preserves, red currant. spice, pepper. Caramel candy, cedar. Oak is prevalent. In the palate- bitter, m- acid and body. Tart cranberry. Rich and plush. New world wine.

Pours apple in color. ON THE NOSE: Cherry, smoke and brown spice. ON THE PALATE: strawberry, Bing Cherry, brown sugar, baking spices and a hint of earth. Wow. This has lots of layers. Medium body long finish.

Minerally and savory. Not a lot of fruit and a bit subdued acidity. A little hot on the finish and tasting and looking like a much older vintage.

Pinot Noir body dressed in a heavy overcoat. Complex but syrupy. Heavy body. Blackberries on the nose. Notes of cherries, plums, apples, and chocolate. Hints of smoke and spice but just. Sweet soft finish. The heaviest and sweetest Pinot Noir ever, but also quite complex.

Serious dark red color. Cherry and spice nose, with the spice predominate in the middle leading to a lingering acid finish. Nicely balance and smooth throughout.
