Deep purple in color with a dark purple rim.

Beautiful nose of blueberries, sweet black plums, black currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, graphite, chocolates, mocha, smoke, dark coffee and peppercorn.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with plums, sweet strawberries, cherries, currants, oak, spices, earth, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, chocolates and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very enjoyable red wine from Portugal, with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with mild complexity and a tangy ending.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins, but drinkable right out of the bottle.

Peaking now. Not one for long term aging. I really liked the nose here. Good by itself or with food. I paired it with goat cheese and nuts.

Aged for 12 months in Oak barrels.

14% alcohol by volume.

Super bold wine. Peppery and earthy nose, but don't let that fool you. The palate is not overwhelming. Dried red fruits with leather and cassis. Drank it with a filet and it was spot on for a Tuesday night. My first Alentejo but not my last.
