Bien Nacido Vineyard Syrah
My last bottle of HS after I picked up some random bottles from them a few years back. They certainly have a style (big and rich Paso Rhone wines, with some flair to them( and when you want that style, they knock it out of the park.
Bien Nacido fruit. 100% Syrah. I’m a big fan of this vineyard and this wine channels some of those highlights. Showing classic BN notes of iron, white pepper, gamey smoked meats aromatically, and I’m assuming some use of whole cluster/stem inclusion with the lifted green/herbal profile. On the palate, it’s mouth coating rich and shows typical Paso Syrah style. Tar, blackberries, black currant, pepper crusted tenderloin and even some cherry cordial. If you’re looking for in your face Paso wines that turn it up to 11, these are your huckleberry.
