Special Reserve Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon

This particular Cabernet Sauvignon Special Reserve is sourced from the Red Hills by the Lake County, one of the Northernmost California's peculiar terroir with a differentiating red volcanic soil at a high elevation, yet dry climate.
Having a microclimate conditions like this, grapes tend to be a bit more aromatic than the surrounding areas. Therefore, the wine offers intense aromas of dark fruit compote and blackberry and cacao beans. Also, vanilla is present considerably, along with black cherry. Mouthfeel is a bit on the jelly with some spices to the back-end of the palate as well. The wine feels undeniably hot (15.5% ABV). Tannins are softer compared to the those Cab Sauv’s coming from Napa. A subtle notes of dry leaves and leather were felt after the wine was fully oxygenated after 1.5 hours.
