Sweet and hearty. A bit of musk and lemon.

Nov 3rd, 2014The purest a Vidal can get. Primary aromas of apricot, but the age allowed for some nice caramel complexities to show up. Rich on the palate with strong honey tones and a touch of citrus hiding in the back. Really lingers too, and paired well with a salted caramel cheesecake.

Apr 7th, 2019Gorgeous golden color. The nose is delightfully complex, offering quite a bit more than just simple sweet fruit. It has a shade of green to it that I can't quite put my finger on but I'm going to call it crushed rhubarb stem. But of course, that comes with a healthy heaping of honey comb, candied apricot and flower nectar.
Mouthwatering balance of penetrating sweetness with sharp acidity. The mouthfeel is heavenly. Thick, rich and velvety without being cloying.
I don't know maybe I was just REALLY in the mood for a dessert wine but this baby was really doing it for me.
Paired it with a selection of creamy and salty cheeses and the synergy was positively hedonistic.
Would love to see what this does with 5, 10, hell - 25 years of bottle age. It has the structure for it.
Share with a friend who's smart enough not to pre-judge it just for being sweet. ;)

Sweet mango and papaya dominate. Lubricious mouthfeel at full strength. Mixed with sparkling water it becomes a lovely little spritzer that is very enjoyable.
