Jean Foillard
"Cuvée Corcelette" Morgon Gamay
This is great. Vibrant, savory, purple fruited, tart, fun and so delicious. It has gained so much elegance and complexity with time, revealing some chestnut and hibiscus. Yet it still feels fresh as a daisy. I'm not sure Foillard has hit these heights in recent vintages.

Nov 15th, 20212016 vintage - There was a time when I was new to tasting Gamay when I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to distinguish its character from a lesser Pinot Noir.... year of trying and wines like this and NOW I CAN. There’s an extra “wood/brushy” aspect to this wines fruit aromas; like a red plum with some stem still attached. Brilliant transparent fruit like cherry and plum with hints of cinnamon spice and brush. So fresh in the mouth, extra drinkable...Very well made! Bravo!
