Jean-Henri Fabre
Panicaut Plan de Dieu Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhone Blend
Dark, purply color. Love the nose: licorice, blackberry, gravelly earth and whiff of lavender. Soft and mouthfilling, with a lot of soft, puckery tannin. Disappears briefly in the mid palate, but the rich fruit, minerals (a little iodine too) come back and linger on the finish. Nice! Cheap! Under $15.

Jul 22nd, 2016Deep garnet color with purple hue. Perfume, flower, leather, black pepper, red berry all come together beautifully on the nose. Warm and bright on the palate. The extra chili source like kick at the end might not be for everyone, but I love it. Tannic, and a bit puckery. A harmonized blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre. This is one of the best value wine I've ever tasted.

Nov 23rd, 2016Medium bodied, nice round fruit, but lacked that earthy- barnyardy component I like so much. No one would complain if you served this at a party, but I would need notes to remember it.

Jul 1st, 2016Starts a touch harsh but opens nicely with a bit of air. Better day 2. Not bad.
