Jonata Winery
Todos Santa Ynez Valley Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon
This bottle rode out to California with me a few years back and then flew back with me on Friday. The 2006 Todos from Jonata is a blend of 39% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Sangiovese, and the rest Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Viognier. It’s an ideal match for Texas BBQ with its rich fruit, but bone dry finish, and a mix of herbs and spices in between.

Oct 22nd, 2013Smooth, full, silky mouth feel that opens up with an explosion of fruit and spice. I'm amazed. Need more. Like right now!

Jan 7th, 2017This would have gotten a higher rating had it tasted somewhat recognizable the second day after being corked in the fridge. I still smell herbal notes such as thyme and clove.

Nov 20th, 2016Crimson red with a high-pitched nose of sweet berries and sunshine. Deep saturated palette of macerated strawberries and dusty tannins, but without the cloying finish.

Sep 23rd, 2015The 2006 Fenix is now the most expensive bottle in my past and present wine arsenal. At first, the smell had a sense of a slight fruity aroma. When the glass was given its time to breathe, the taste gradually moved to a fruity combustion with a blackberry after taste. Amazing bottle.
