Joseph Swan Vineyards
Great Oak Vineyard Russian River Valley Syrah
From the one acre of Syrah planted on the steep slopes of the Great Oak Vineyard (along Westside Rd. immediately west of Gary Farrell). Remarkable aromatics that meld together so well it's almost difficult to delineate what's there. Black cherry, black olive, tar, Indian spices, potting soil, bacon fat, and 70% cacao. Not extracted at all, but doesn't lack intensity or flavor.

May 3rd, 2017Black olive, ripe cherry, smoked bacon, bitter chocolate. Pronounced, good intencity. Med+ body, med acidity. Vibrant, deep and savoury on the palate. Excellent to go with duck confit or any hearty meal. Lengthy finish adds a lot of character.
