Alsheimer Spätburgunder
Gorgeous nose. Spice, balsam, Damp earth, pine needle, raspberry and strawberry fruit. So aromatic. Layered and precise aromas. Excellent aromatic showing. Palate is ripe and juicy with wonderful balancing acidity and freshness. Lovely earthy sweetness and nice persistence. Gossamer like.

Holy F! This is madness in a glass, makes me think Burgundy immediately, raspberry with wet earth and lightly smokey on initial approach. I could just smell this all night and not even have to take a sip to be overly satisfied. Mashed raspberry/strawberry finish extends for minutes, this hit the decanter about an hour ago, I can't even imagine where this will be in a few more hours. It's fruit perfume. I think this is easily on par with the similarly priced Enderle & Moll (Liaison), if not almost better!

1 person found it helpfulDec 10th, 2017N: Rhubarb and dank, dark earth. Did anyone say Burg.? Leather, chocolate and some cinnamon. Red plums.
P: Initially very delicate, as it gains air, some more body comes out. Lots of fresh tilled earth, like cedar, gossamer,
forestall, very gently woodsy, nice and bright. A spätburgunder built for the summer. After an hour out, big black cherries really pop.
Thanks @DosageWines.

This is a beautiful wine. A wine most people shopping in retail today are not privy to. But they should look harder because this is absolutely stunning. If you know you know

Apr 20th, 2021Holy hell! This just reaffirms why I love German PN so much. So much depth and structure. 2015 is drinking so gut right now!

Jan 23rd, 2021Tried the 15 and 16 side by side the 16 did disappoint. The 15 is somewhat better. Darker in color more fruit and round. Red currant hint of cherry. Not really a must have.

Jun 12th, 2020From Lyle Fass essentially the BEST!!! importer of German Pinot. The kicker you need to buy blind and wait six months.
But the guy picked up the best of the best.
Fantastic - forest raspberries - wild cherries - bark - elegant and balanced a stunning wine! Burgundian in style. This sings! Lookout for 2016 another good vintage as this is only available from Lyle. Also can’t go wrong with this producer any wine she makes is great.
