14.2% alc.
Tasted side-by-side with the 2006 it is difficult to pick a favorite.
2005 has a bit more depth and body (from higher actual alc.?) whereas the 2006 shows more "coolness" due to the vintage.
Being a "Bordeaux-guy" I prefer restraint rather than power so my vote today goes towards the 2006.
Either way people show try to snatch both these up at auctions as I bet they could be had for a song.
If memory serves me initial Maling List price was $42-ish.

Balalanced notes of med cassis, soft sweet cedar, hint of minerals, soft crushed violets, oft leather, no heat. On the palate, well balanced med-full cassis, soft acid, well integrated silky tannins, soft sweet cedar, soft leather/minerals. Finishes 35+sec, dark fruit, silky tannins, soft acid. Should last 5-7 y.

Sep 11th, 2018This Karl Lawrence is flawless, as usual. 2005 drinking great right now, but has plenty of years to go if you are sitting on some.
