In 1983 K-J introduced Grand Reserve, a line of premium wines. Dark Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and pepper spice. Blended with small amounts of Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec. Tried several times. On the palate plum and tart cherry with cacao and oak. Rustic tannins, medium finish ending with slight fruit tones. Just Ok, but past it’s prime. Not a fan, several others in similar price range are better.

Pretty bold red. Needs to breath for 5 minutes or be decanted. Overall nice red.

Candied fruit--more accurately, the jarred" maraschino" cherries pumped full of artificial flavor & high fructose corn syrup. And then you made a pie with them. Tasted blind & two people called it a zin.

Not bad for grocery store wine. It's a little bit on the hot side but upon decanting it mellows out a bit.

Consumed 8/2016. Received 12/2014. Should be consumed no later than 2019. This has Cassis, current and black cherry tones with enticing aromas of mocha, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Too strong at the beginning. Nevertheless, nice acidity. Good balance. A decanter is a must for this wine.

Tastes exactly like I expect a Sonoma cab to taste.
