In 1983 K-J introduced Grand Reserve, a line of premium wines. Dark Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and pepper spice. Blended with small amounts of Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec. Tried several times. On the palate plum and tart cherry with cacao and oak. Rustic tannins, medium finish ending with slight fruit tones. Just Ok, but past it’s prime. Not a fan, several others in similar price range are better.

Jun 18th, 2020Candied fruit--more accurately, the jarred" maraschino" cherries pumped full of artificial flavor & high fructose corn syrup. And then you made a pie with them. Tasted blind & two people called it a zin.

Sep 11th, 2016Too strong at the beginning. Nevertheless, nice acidity. Good balance. A decanter is a must for this wine.
