Kendall-Jackson
Vintner's Reserve California Chardonnay
This got better as the weekend went on, starting on Friday quite sour & one dimensional, and finishing on Sunday as a very well rounded and pleasant wine. Would’ve definitely benefited from decanting. Quite tropical, with mango, Jonagold apple and a chalky mouthfeel. Probably wouldn’t buy again, but pleasing nonetheless.

May 9th, 2019The first Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay was released in 1983. Light golden yellow color. Some oak and stone fruit aromas. Peach and tropical fruits on the palate with vanilla and some buttery oak on the finish. Good value for a wine to entertain a crowd that won't break the bank. Consistent quality. Tasting Sample. Tasted ‘15 & ‘16 side by side, not much difference.

Feb 22nd, 2018Yesterday was #4thofjuly so here at the TC HQ we thought we’d get stuck into some American vino. I found this bottle of Kendall Jackson 2016 Chardonnay from California at Dan Murphy’s for about $30. I wasn’t quite sure what I’d got myself into, however I was most pleasantly surprised 🇺🇸

📝 In the glass it’s a brilliant golden yellow with notes of candied mandarins, vanilla and vanilla infused lemon 🍋 curd rising from the glass. The palate is super flavoursome and rounded with pineapple fruit sweetness balanced with creamy oak and refreshing acidity on the finish. It also conjured up thoughts of sweet corn slathered with butter for me. Juicy, full of flavour and mighty enjoyable!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine

Nose - subtle tropical fruit, mango, papaya. Taste - some tropical fruits, but a great oak influence balances it out so it's not so acidic. Nice oak finish as well. Really like.
