Kistler
Durell Vineyard Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Possibly the most age-worthy of the Kistler Chards. Other 2013s are ready to go, but this Durrell remains tightly wound... still there’s enough stone fruit and almond flowers to make this delicious now. A great cool-weather Chard, the oak and toasted hazelnuts will warm you up.

Sep 4th, 2018One of the first bottles out of our allotment from Kistler. Dark straw/hay color in the glass with whiffs of tangerine and wet stone. Citrus flavors prevail with a hint of oak and a return of the stone. Extremely long finish that continues to evolve. Would have liked to tasted a little more of the fruit and less winemaking. Reminds me of the Patz and Hall Durell Vineyard...

Dec 6th, 2015Kistler 2013 Durell is even better. Than our previous chard at dinner Aubert Sonoma Coast, and Aubert 2013 was Awesome. Durell needed a bit to open up. You need big Riedal or Spigaleau to have both Chards to come alive! Wow! Tropical fruit just a right touch of oak, and not much! The fruit just jumps in your mouth. Keep it coming Kistler!!!
