Very pleased with this showing. Displayed a nice bouquet on Sunday evening. Notes of sandalwood and coffee and tobacco on the palate. Tannins are still prominent, which is a good sign for cellaring. Nice maple-like notes with dark berries on the finish.

An exemplar in Napa valley.
The nose is a bottomless pit of blackberries, blueberries. espresso. The palette is initially defined by its solid, tannic frame. Then, the extravagant notes kick in. Strawberry jam, cassis and cocoa powder add to to this bold expression. This is a power-play example, which, based on our experience with Lamborn, may be their best wine yet. This will sail on for another 15 years, easily. Memorable.

Brought out the Reidel Grand Cru's for this. Dense, layered, textured and sweet. Drinking perfectly now, but has the stuffing for another 20 years.
Heidi Barrett can do no wrong when working with Howell Mtn fruit.

Not as brooding as the '08, but beautiful fruit finishing with minerals. Lots of evolution in the glass.
