Long, tall screw-top bottle. Garnett, ruby red. Not a whole lot of aroma. Slightly smoky. Flavors are more complex and strange than expected. Licorice in there. Funky. Dense. Complex. I’m surprised at the balance in this. Most of the Layer Cake wine I know is fruit bombed and drenched in toffee, caramels, and vanilla. This is a well done Aussie SharaaahZ.
