Cherry, and Violet's all the way. Paired with a piave - but wish we had some meat action. Even a pepperoni pizza with this would be magic.

2022/5/5 with polpettine. First bottle of of this (which I always love) in some time. Open but.m not yet tertiary, with lots of red cherry, flower petals, rocky earth and an in-and-out hint of spice. Not overly dense, this is translucent with lots of juicy acidity and a nice fine tannic swell at the end. It feels like there could be potential for more aromatic development, but the balance of flavors is on point - substantial yet sneakily moreish.

First time trying Le Piane.. well not strictly true, we had a glass of their Erbaluce at the beginning of the evening. Both wines were fantastic. Was introduced by a beautiful restaurant in the mountains (Villa Pizzini). Delicious. Shall be sourcing once back in the UK.
