"Le Pich" is a Wappo Indian word for "golden eagle". While the Le Pich Cabernet is the minor - league team for the Purlieu Vineyards- this 2009 is an absolute knock-out. Beautifully well rounded and just brimming with soft & chewy cherry tannins- it's a stunner.

Dark, dense, tightly wound, graceful. Brambly blackberries, blueberry preserves, red and purple plums, sun-dried dates. Smoked herbs, graphite, roasted coffee beans, crushed violets. Cellar through 2032, or decant and enjoy with grilled lamb chops, braised beef, black bean soup or tomatoes Provençal.
