Columbia Valley Syrah

WA Syrah with 20% Grenache. A bit hot at 15%. But a nice white pepper and earthy but a bit on the light side for Syrah which will be good with short ribs. Given that the waitress knew zip about wines we could have done way worse .

Alcohols & oak dominate this wine overriding the dark fruit & earth - maybe more age will allow it to mellow

Day two tastes ok

2011. Smells super sweet, like blueberry preserves. Cocktail finish. A touch spicy.

2011. Very structured.

Structured and tannic, but leaner bodied. Showing smoke and gunpowder, cranberry, tart black cherry, and spice.

Wonderful and smooth. 20% grenache. Earthy.

hot and heavy. baking spice. bold black fruit.
