Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

A popular US import here in Zürich, at least with my family. Had it many times, very consistent. Solid Cab, very bold and fruit-forward, a little syrupy, some red licorice. Some haters on Delectable, but it never let me down. Very grill-worthy with plenty of smoked meats. — 9 days ago

Estate Red Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

#AgedWineTuesday

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with red fruits, chocolate notes, spices and tobacco leaf.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with sweet raspberries, cherries, plums, light oak, chocolates, peppercorn, light earth and herbs.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Walla Walla Valley. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward with lots of red fruits and chocolate notes. Tangy, complex and interesting.

This 10 year old still feels younger and vibrant. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Feels like the Merlot and Petit Verdot are very dominant, and the alcohol is nicely integrated by now.

Drinking very nicely right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged for 22 months in (70% New) French Oak barrels.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

This rocked! Refined yet complex. 1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Dark, sweet cherries on the nose. On the palate it reminded me of Pontet Canet and Gargiulo. Fairly big, deep wine. Ample sweetness = dessert in a glass! — 24 days ago

Antica Terra

Botanica Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022

Medium light ruby , quite wide garnet ruby rim . Touch of pot pouri , with some spiced cherry , wild strawberry and raspberry . Sweet red cherry notes on the palate , some light herbal notes and a saline streak . Touch of black pepper and perhaps a hint of warmth . Ok length and balance . Not as fresh as some of the others. Drink now and over the next few years . Vinous Icons NY , Pier 60, Feb 2025 — 11 days ago

Solid as always. Higher alcohol and wood than other bottles. Might need a decant as I PnP’d. Started off great with dark cherries and depth, but became astringent over time. — 2 months ago

Bionic Frog Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2019

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Nose of blueberries, black plums, black currants, coffee, licorice, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth and herbs.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cherries, blood notes, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, barnyard, light vegetables, light tar and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Syrah from the Rocks District in Walla Walla Valley. In your face kind of wine. Rich, extracted and complex. Nicely balanced and elegant. Interesting stuff.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after a couple of hours of airtime.

This 6 year old Syrah is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolves.

A great sipping wine that also paired nicely with a big piece of steak.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
