Rueda Verdejo
My last Wednesday Wine Committee to attend this year. Quite the lesson in Spanish wines! As always, all wines are tasted blind.
Very unique. Quite a bit of petrol on the nose...finish was bone dry, so I kept thinking possibly a Riesling, but most German and Alsatian Riesling’s are much sweeter. Best guess here was Alsatian Pinot Gris.

I love Verdejo but this is not it. Slight sulfurous funk to nose along with Sauvignon Blanc-like grassiness, touch of lime on palate. Simple. The best Ruedas jump out of the glass into your throat, this does not.

Jun 12th, 2015Fresh, fruity wine. A bit too citric, but goes well with summer meals.
