A blend of Grenache Blanc, Rolle (Vermentino), and Marsanne. Pale straw in color. Raw bitter almonds and tart white cherries on the shy nose and medium light palate which adds a healthy dose of white peppery French oak. Medium acidity. Moderate, palate-continuing finish. Both the bitterness and tartness are mitigated by food which should be of the heartier grade and rustic in style. I had red beans and rice with andouille sausage -- Louisiana French rustic -- and they melded perfectly. Definitely a wine for food. Look elsewhere for your sipper. Drink now through 2029.
