Côtes de Bordeaux Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend
2018 vintage. Last tasted 2.18.22. This is the (regrettably) last bottle. Honed and focused. Some (there wasn’t an overt amount to begin with) baby fat dropped. Transitioning to earth and minerals and, in doing so, adding depth. Medium body. Will be on the search for more. 6.11.24.

Jun 12th, 2024Very nice Bordeaux from the makers of renowned Le Pin. This needs food for sure - the tannins and a bit of bitterness are quite present. But very nicely balanced with good depth and dark fruit. Nice wine esp for the price.

Jan 24th, 20242018 vintage. QPR in spades here. Not the easiest wine to find however. Last tasted October 2021 and it’s only getting better.

Feb 19th, 2022Very dark rubi robe, nose of blackcurrant, dark cherries, and some clover and spices. Very much delicious with mature but fresh merlot and a bit of cab on the blend. Fresh, balanced and rich like the vintage. Cool stuff. Incredible value for the quality you get. Buy what you can, this will go up once folks discover it.

Oct 30th, 20212018 vintage. From the estate formerly known as Château Goubau (renamed 2016) and from the same family that brings you L’If and some wine called Le Pin. 95% Merlot. 5% Cab Franc. Really dark hue. Mint, blackberries, earth and tobacco in the nose. Medium-bodied with ample, silky tannins. The longer in the glass, the more white pepper and herbaceous flavors gain prominence. Nice QPR and will look to pick up more. Pretty now but just may be a stunner in a few years.
