Another great example of the wonders of cool climate zin, and even better than the 2014 imo. Crunchy red fruit, violet floral tones, and a supple but never heavy finish. A zin for people who say they don’t like Californian zin. Great job, @Steve Matthiasson !

This is a well-rounded RRV Zin with traditional blackberry and plum notes. I was initially underwhelmed, but it really opened up and provided more complexity with floral and tobacco notes after an hour decant. This would be a good Zin for someone that prefers more nuance to the big, bold CA Zins.

I found the alcohol content to overpower the other flavors. Maybe a day out on the counter would have helped soften things up. I could tell there was some great flavor underneath.

Juicy, chewy, and expressive - On the nose molasses, plum, raisins, and baking spices. On the palate loads of dark fruits, caramelized sugar, with nice acidity to balance it out with a youthful vibrance.
