La Croix du Roy Sancerre Pinot Noir

Opening salvo in a night of delicious dinner courtesy of Howard Street Wine Merchants and Chef @Paul Kulik , the energy behind Le Bouillon. Our dinner guest was our friend John Paine from Rosenthal. Tonight was an evening of Burgundy, which outside of Chablis and Beaujolais, has always been a challenge for me. This was a delicious opener, if not an outlier. Regardless, a really tasty wine with bright red fruits of notable freshness. Not super complex but unique and always fun to drink Sancerre Rouge.

Richer fruit and a it candied compared to burgundy but a solid expression. More akin to boutique Oregon that its french counterparts.

Stellar! Smells like horseradish. Lovely expression of some rare Sancerre Rouge.

So pretty. So pure. So linear.
Not for the masses, sadly. Or, more accurately, the masses are not ready for Pinot that tastes like this.

All the pros of a Sancerre, but I'm not sure if it works with a Pinot Noir. Will try it again.

Nose of flowers mixed with stones. Savory but balanced on palate. Not as much sense of delicate flowers as red burg. Acidity and backbone naked fit good food wind again. JL tasting.
