Opened prior to dinner and was the pièce de résistance to another epic night of Rhône wine. The 1995 Hermitage Vin de Paille pours an amber color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of honey, dried stone fruits, marmalade, and nuts. On the palate, the wine is sweet and the finish is long. Not for everyone but this was unquestionably the proper sign off for the night! Drink now through 2055? Hard to tell considering the amount of sugar!
