Maison Chanzy
En Rosey Rully Pinot Noir
Who doesn’t love cheap Burgundy?! Medium burgundy with a garnet rim. This is about as basic and one note of a Burgundy as you can get. And it’s just delightful. The nose is quite interesting with a little green pepper to go with the tart cherry. And the funk. There is just enough funk all over this baby to keep me coming back for more. There is a nice level of freshness and acidity to this Pinot that makes up for the lack of complexity. Cherries, raspberries, smoke, and wet earth on the palate. Short finish. Can these age? Who cares, just turn off your brain and enjoy.

Apr 21st, 2019Pleasant bitter notes with good tannins and acidity. Miss the ‘14s Bourgogne R already. They have so much structure. Whole cluster

Feb 8th, 2019Tart cherry and cranberry. Simple decent table wine should run you about 7EUR retail in France and totally worth it. $30 in the US? Go fuck yourself.

Jan 22nd, 2019This opens funky with new car leather seat as if I ever tasted that. A little better later on but not really what I’m looking for in a glass a wine. Ok on the finish but too little too late.

Jan 5th, 2019Fresh and juicy, opens with with a little bit of a burnt biscuit note that kind of morphed into a green persimmon smell. Light and herbaceous, not thin, with a tangy finish. Right or wrong côte chalonnaise has a reputation for generic and kind of rustic wines. This is a delicious and easy drinking iteration of Pinot Noir from there that I definitely enjoy drinking, however the price point which this wine can be found isn’t exactly what I would call in line with the quality. Would drink again, but on sale.
