unique style of Chardonnay. Super clunky but loaded with flavor and very drinkable

Insanely rich and textured. Essential oil on the nose with verbena, butterscotch, and oak. This is a massively endowed wine that requires at least half a decade in the cellar. Even if it is not my style, It's so well made... just have to appreciate it

I had both the 08 and the 10 on this night. My only real recollection is that the 08 was drinking incredibly well and the 10 didn't have its best showing. Would love to try that 10 again with a few more years on it.

@Ted Mandes @Steve Colanero @Christine It was great to do a side by side next to the Batard Montrachet. The stylistically different wines were each awesome in their own right. This Napa monster was a beauty. Everything about it was big and huge in comparison to the harmonious notes the Batard was playing. Christine is a huge Napa Chardonnay fan but I heard her say last night that she prefers the balance Of the Batard. I was stunned! Shit., looks like my inexpensive Napa Chardonnay days are over!! All kidding aside. This wine showed truly well and is a phenomenal example of a great Napa Chardonnay.

I was prepared not to like this, but wow! Surpassingly great fruit, not overoaked, fab mouthfeel and finish.

Dusty chalk, packed hay, and white flowers. Not as much fruit as I would have expected, but some interesting, earthy flavors.
