Nose has cherry and blueberry wit a nice hint of vanilla. Lots of nice minerality, with blackberry and a hint of cherry on the palate. Nice long tart finish. 2007 vintage.

Almost wine of the night, but was outdone by the 2005 Neal and almost by the 2005 Guigal. This wine is in a nice black cherry herbal place right now. Wine was still JUST approachable after 2 hours. This wine is one that everyone who tasted it was getting something slightly different, although the raspberry and herbs really did resound throughout most tasting notes. Entry was lighter, almost a bing cherry vs. a black cherry pie. A little sweet on the entry. The middle of this wine seemed to have some nice black tea and cola hints that kind of danced in and out. Almost seemed to have a cinnamon spice cookie note on the finish as there was some definite sweetness here. There was quite a bit of grip to the finish, with lots of tannin still there even at 2 hours. The finish did mellow down with food. Overall this wine needs another 5 years but is approachable now with a decant.

Beautiful garnet color and vibrant Sangiovese bouquet. Begins boldly and finishes with elegance; black cherry, raspberry, fresh spring flowers, a touch of spice, with earthly overtones. A lovely wine.
