lovely find. notes of chocolate, dark berries and charcoal. this Barbera is a little different from the previous ones I had. It’s got full body, dark colour and long lasting in the palate. I recommend it. bella scoperta. note di cioccolato, bacche scure e carbone. questa Barbera è un po 'diversa dalle precedenti che avevo. Ha corpo pieno, colore scuro e lunga durata al palato. Lo consiglio.

Really like this wine. Well balanced acid and medium tannins. Smooth drinking.

Excellent for its style/class/purpose (yes, I know wine is not "purposed"...but it is). 2016 Barbera di' Alba. Yes, drink for flavor. Subtle nice balanced right on on the fruit and flavor palate balance and finish. Sufficient legs and bouquet. One of the most consistent, better Piedmont Barbera d' Alba/Asti vinos of the Region. No wonder - it's Marchesi di' Barola. (Drank again last night...very, very nice...raise the rating to 9.2.)

Marchesi d' Barola, Alba, Piedmont, Italia. Among the best of the Barola producers and this wine, Ruvei, 2016 vintage, is quite representative of the best of reasonable priced Barberas. Full-medium bodied, rich dark red with subtle dark berry flavors; discernible but not sweet bouquet, balanced with light tannins - lingers on the palate with a soft finish. Buy again and again...

It was like kissing the earth. Clay on the bouquet and clay on first taste and then it lets you in. Great wine to be paired with some lamb..
