it's a great version of a style, but I personally feel like it doesn't live up to potential. Oak and strong vanilla notes dominate. Yet underneath, nose of saline, a nuttiness that recalls mersualt, a slight mushroom note, a stony mineralogy, a very new world but refined fruit of ripe banana and baked pineapple, great texture, a little tannic grip, and great acidity, but with distinctively (good) new world fatness. If you are into oaky chards, this is an extremely refined version of the genre. But for me, the vanilla is like a blanket concealing all that this wine could have been
Seems to have plenty of life. Maybe that vanilla streak will integrate? Or will the fruit fade and bring the vanillin forward. People more knowledgeable than me would know
