Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese-Nerello Cappuccio Blend
Light ruby core fading to amber rim. Cherry, leather, and black tar on the nose with no evidence of new oak. Light to medium bodied on the palate with sweet red berry fruit, a bit of spice, food friendly acidity, 13.5% alcohol, and finishing with somewhat gritty, drying tannins. Made in certified organic winery from 95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio. Reminiscent of Pinot Noir but with more rustic tannins and terroir driven notes from Mount Etna's volcanic soils.
