This was great. Structurally the wine is ready to drink but it has the frame to keep going. Quintessential Italy in character. Meaty, leathery, savory, and lots of umami tones backed by dried and sour dark fruit. Tannins are on the earthy side, fine, and add so much to the textural experience reminiscent of fine Nebbiolo. All the dark and savory elements are bound by balanced acid that drives the wine forward.
