So impressed with this merlot - can you say black cherry? Successfully blends dark fruits and graphite, definitely one of my favorite weeknight wines and go-to gift. It’s a total crowd-pleaser; everyone I share it with wants to know where to buy a bottle.

Dec 10th, 2020More earthy than the Matthews Columbia Valley Cabernet. Veggie nose. Tannin-laden so feel current berries will burst with flavor through cellaring for several years.

Dec 28th, 2019Easy drinking merlot with silky tannins and a polished palate. Graphite and black cherry on the nose with notes of nutmeg, dark red fruits and vanilla. Perfect!

Nov 15th, 2019The Matthews Merlot has weighty legs. There is cranberry & dark cherry notes with a bit of smoky finish. It is young so easy to put down awhile for the cellar folks. It’s lovely.

Oct 26th, 2019Talk about an easy drinking Washington merlot. Nose consists of stewed plums, cassis, and caramel. Moderate acidity in the mouth flows into flavors of raspberries, strawberry, fresh ground coffee, black pepper and hints of asparagus.
