A well-balanced nose of earth and fruit - think overripe strawberries meets grass and graphite. Incredible tannins and notes of leather, olive, and plums. Definitely worth decanting. Only 415 cases produced from Washington’s top AVAs (Walla-Walla, Red Mountain, Royal Slope...) — 5 years ago
Earthy, fresh mossy nose with a subtle caramel finish — 5 years ago
I am not normally a Chardonnay fan and I am i love with this single varietal chard from Matthews winery. It has light flavor of spices with a hint of dessert (although it is not sweet at all) refreshing, full bodied white wine — 6 years ago
What a bountiful Merlot. It is a healthy blend of berries with the slight nod to caramel and plums with a bit of tomato sauce. Full bodied & ready for pasta. — 6 years ago

Bright, crisp, juicy and full bodied. — 5 years ago
The 2018 Cuvée has these wonderful floral notes which I think is from the Cab Franc. But is Merlot forward and it makes it a wine for all occasions. — 6 years ago
A combination of Bordeaux varietals, this red wine was a real treat. It is an excellent choice from the Columbia Valley. — 6 years ago
Wonderful red. Extremely well balanced. Yet to meet someone that hasn’t loved it — 6 years ago
Quite nice with chicken stuffed acorn squash. Clean finish ($21) — 3 years ago
A dense bright ruby in colour. Initially vanilla/oak notes which blew off with time in decanter. Dense rich and brooding - not giving much aromatically. Tight and muscular. Behaves younger than 7 years. Made by the redoubtable Rene Barbier, one of the founders of the revitalised Priorat movement as shown in the excellent documentary “Dreaming of Wine”. Full bodied and flavoursome. Rich and herbal - predominantly ripe Garnacha grapes. Red and black fruits. Had a wonderful visit there last year with the family and an informative tour and tasting at Clos Mogador. I love the fact that they have kept their wines affordable unlike their Priorat colleagues Alvaro Palacios (L’Ermita) and Daphne Glorian (Clos Erasmus) whose wines are quite expensive. This Mogador is so not ready to drink! Needs time in the cellar. Disagree with Thomas Matthews Drinking window of 2019 to 2024. Personally I think this wine will cruise through to 2030. I will leave the last one for around another 4 years. — 3 years ago

Really refreshing, nice notes of citrus and white tea — 6 years ago
Jam-packed with rich berries, incredibly welcoming. Smooth smooth smooth. Best Matthews Syrah since 2013 so buy it while you can! — 6 years ago
