Really a lovely 2012 red blend (most Merlot) from mathiasson. Dark fruited and quite earthy. Pretty refined and high toned. Delicious with some steaks.

Dec 25th, 2023PnP. Classic Matthiasson red blend. Menthol and dark cherries on the nose with ample cedar. Lovely texture with hints of spice and even some cloves. Medium depth and finished. Well made!

Nov 4th, 2023Very nice! 1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Dark cherries and tobacco on the nose. Similar on the palate and paired nicely with smoked boneless short ribs. Silky with a medium finish. 93.5 but rounding up.

Sep 3rd, 2023Really quite nice but I probably slightly preferred the 2011 we had a few months ago. Quite inky dark and refined. It’s all there - the fruit, the sweet tannins, the slight vanilla from the oak. Very nice with a beautiful ribeye on the grill.
