The nose is quite fascinating. There is a tiny green bell pepper note that is familiar, but I smell cherry coke, strawberry, a bit of hay, some black pepper too. The palate was austere and super dry at first but it opened up after a while. I had a first glass before our evening meal and I can see a real difference with meat balls and brocoli in soy sauce. There is a good acid drive, some cherry cola and strawberry notes, a very soft and caressing mouthfeel, some gentle tannins in the rear, before a long, rather dry finish with the same fruit notes and a discreet final bitter touch. A rather lean, not extracted, fruity yet structured example of cabernet franc. I would not have guessed it blind as it's quite different from loire valley expressions I know. Good stuff, have it with food though. — 2 days ago
PnP. Dark red almost purple color. Flowers, earth, and Rhubarb on the nose. Same on the palate with ample tartness. Very bold bouquet. Pairs nicely with chewy starbursts :) — 16 days ago
PnP. Dark red color. Awesome, complex nose filled with bell pepper, cardamom, oak, flowers, and a hint of peppermint. Bright cherries and wood on the palate. Medium depth and finish. Very nice! — a month ago
Modest gold color. Stone fruit, lemongrass, and maybe a hint of vanilla on the nose. Same on the palate, which is well integrated. Medium depth and finish.
Give this a little decant, revising from 94-95. — 21 days ago
Lovely translucent gold color. Complex nose of camomile, butterscotch, and lemongrass. Lemons, lemongrass, and apples on the palate. Deeper wine with less acidity than past bottles. Always complex and good. — 2 months ago
