My favorite wine. Flavors echoed the apple cider poached pears.
Earthy (wet/ozone post thunderstorm forest floor, button mushroom), burnt caramel, baked pear and apple, sage, agave, wild acid. — a month ago
The amber color made us worry but this wine is in a beautiful place — hazelnuts, nutmeg and baked pear. Chardonnay at its best. — 2 months ago
Beaujolais all night and all day. And 21 was good to this cuvee.
Sour pitted fruits (plum, cherry), some cranberry, stemmy stems and some raspberries,
This is the wine I want to drink with every meal. There should be more wine like this.

So much berry fruit. I don’t only drink champagne; I also drink franciacorta. — a month ago
Baked cherry cobbler. Cinnamon, blackberry with a touch of five spice and hot cocoa— so silky and drinkable despite its heft and ABV. Utterly indulgent and delightful.
Big wine for the big game. First bottle (2020) was corked (just starting to show it). Unfortunately the 49ers didn’t do quite as well as the wine did tonight. — 2 months ago
Lime, green apple; freshness with depth. Smoke / pencil eraser note there but delicate, adding a layer as opposed to dominant. Great touch of toasted vanilla lees on palate. Very good and gorgeous; wouldn’t been great but seemed a tad flat (just wanted a bit more fizz and flash). One of the best “cavas” I’ve ever had. — a month ago
Business in the front, party in the back Friulan style. Intense aromatics of sage, beeswax, kiwi, fennel pollen, yellow blossom, honeydew, hay. On the palate, a little peach Bellini action (ripe peach yet never sweet). Really complex, lovely wine. Needs San Danielle prosciutto to make it super special. — 2 months ago
Heavenly. One of the most delicate, slickest Saint Joseph’s I’ve had. All of the amazing Syrah aromas on the nose (cured black olive, Tabacco, black plum, black currant, pepper, even some red fruits, garrigue) Usually when I have Syrahs this light, they taste lean, angular, underripe — but this fruit is fully ripe, yet still so light on its feet. Fully destemmed Syrah from Vincent’s high elevation plots surrounding Ardoix, one of the furthest north plots in Saint Joseph. His 21 Cornas might be a better wine, but this is the bottle I want to drink right now. — 2 months ago
