Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, Western Cape, South AfricaNotable 2009 vintage, iconic wine. Perfumed minty nose, fragrant mouth...can you say that? Peppercorn, bright red fruit. Lovely wine.

Notes of black currant, cherry on the front of the palate. Medium balanced tannins. The wine is extremely well balanced, refined and continues to open up hour after hour as it breathes. Delicious and will definitely buy and age again.

Aug 29th, 2020This has been in my cellar for a while. Powerful black fruit aroma (may be plums?) with a dash of spices. Complex taste with long lasting palate. Great wine.

Jan 6th, 2018Very smokey at first opening. This mellows after breathing and becomes more enjoyable.

Mar 27th, 2017My first experience with this wine. Drinkable now but has a few years left. There's something I can't quite place that makes this different (perhaps South African terroir?) from similar wines. Typical cabernet dominated nose and mouthfeel but there's a hint of brick... I don't mean the color in the glass, but rather the taste has a note of masonry. I've never licked a brick, but if I did, I suspect it would be a little like this only far less tasty.
