Sep 16th, 2019Pleasurable, elegant, stylish, but not a stunner. Fruit is receding, and elevage stamp still present. Many Sangiovese Grosso wines outperform this bottle for half the price.

The nose is a mix of primary and tertiary, with cherry, pomegranate, sandalwood, earthy forest floor and a woodsy mushroom. The palate was pure silk and refined velvety tannin, finishing long and fresh with classic bright Tuscan acidity. If you have it it's great but has legs for another 15 years easy. #montevertine #tuscany #sangiovese

May 11th, 2017Coming along nicely. The barrique has receded enough that you can enjoy the impressive structure and the nuances of the fruit. Really quite exceptional.
